So you've played the original TG Motocross game? Yeah? Well, the control scheme of this motorcycle game is just the same... you wouldn't have any trouble playing the second installment. Played entirely with the keyboard, press the up arrow key to accelerate and the down arrow key to brake. On the other hand, the right and left arrow keys are for leaning forward and backward respectively. Press the down and right keys at the same time to lean forward, which is especially helpful for gaining speed while going uphill. On the other hand, leaning back with the up and left keys will give you extra speed when riding through a straight platform. That's it for the controls. Onto the game!

TG Motocross 2 Walkthrough
Yes folks the long wait is over! Fans of David Thornburn (developer of the original TG Motocross game) delivered once more with TG Motocross 2! The very popular time-trial motorcycle game is back once again with a lot of fresh and new challenges and enhancements. So what does this new motorcycle game have to offer that the original game didn't have?
Well, to set your expectations right, the sequel to TG Motocross appears to be quite the same. The only striking difference is the number of new and MORE challenging courses / race tracks that will put your bike-riding skills to the test. Personally, I think this is a good thing. The game is familiar enough and does not alienate the fans of the original game, BUT at the same time, it comes with enough goodies to make it worthy of the "Part 2" attached to it.
Aside from the brand new levels, Thornburn also revamped the graphics and, MORE importantly, he made the game A LOT easier to play than the prequel. So what did this result to? For one thing, it brought a new motorbike that is MUCH more fun to ride and less tricky. I'm sure folks who are new to this series of motorcycle games will appreciate it. That said, I would HIGHLY recommend it to occasional or casual gamers.
HOWEVER, what made TG Motocross 2 stand out from the rest of the pack of motorcycle games out there is the physics engine. It is very much the same as we are used to seeing in David's creations (which is of HIGH standard), BUT the implementation, in my opinion, seems to be a bit different in terms of the bike and rider. In other games from the genre, the rider is attached to the bike. However, in TG Motocross 2 and in its prequel, it is possible to actually fall off of the bike! The physics for the rider and bike are separate.
To be honest, I'm not too sure how this affects the game play or if it affects it at all! What I did notice though is that the separate physics for the rider and bike gives me a greater sense of immersion and entertainment.
That said, in comparison to the other BMX / motorcycle games from Teagames (where David works), I enjoyed TG Motocross MUCH more. I think it all boils down to the fact that the bike is motorized and the physics engine it has, which makes climbing steep inclines much less of a problem. PLUS, it also improves the relative level of enjoyment for the casual gamer. Well, enough discussion with the improvements and how-to's. Let's get down to some MUST-know tips and tricks for this motorcycle game:
Tips And Tricks:
- When you start the level, the timer doesn't start until you start moving. You can use this to your advantage. Hold your bike firmly on the ground and position yourself better by leaning backward or forward depending on the level. This goes a long way when it comes to saving A LOT of time on several tracks.
- The second to the last level, in my opinion, is the hardest of them all. The key to beating that level is going through it fast enough while being careful and attentive to the track's humps and bumps.
- Pressing the shift button automatically throws you off of your bike. Keep your fingers away from it. HOWEVER, there are instances when this button is actually helpful. For example, if you are having a VERY bad time and you have a couple of lives to spare, bail off of the bike by pressing the shift button. This will reset the clock to the very beginning of the level and you won't incur any penalties for the death.
