In this motorcycle / bike game, you control your time-trial rider with the arrow keys: press up to accelerate, down arrow keys to brake, and hit the right and left arrow keys to lean forward and backward respectively. One more thing: combine the down and right keys together... this lets you lean forward while climbing a steep and keep your bike in a balanced position. On the other hand, leaning backwards while riding (done by pressing the up and left keys at the same time) gives you extra speed, which is ALWAYS helpful in time-trial races. OK, that's about it for the controls. Let's have a closer look at the game.

TG Motocross Walkthrough
TG Motocross - this has to be one of the BEST motorcycle games ever created by David Thorburn. The objective of the game is very straightforward: you are pitted in a time trial race that is divided in 8 different stages. You need to blaze through these races and tracks, completing them as fast as possible.
One of the niceties that make this bike game stand out from the rest of the pack is the design as well as the physics involved. It has to be one of the best. To complement these, there's a training option available. This is very helpful especially when you get to the levels / stages that are devilishly hard to complete... levels where the rider is very tricky to control like the last stage Diablo Canyon. Trust me, you will need a bit... or better yet A LOT of practice to get used to it.
Another nice feature is the map located on the upper right window of the game screen. This mini-map shows your progress as well as the up and coming obstacles. This helps A LOT in planning ahead and it prevents you from getting taken by surprise, tumbling and crashing in the process. Well, there's really only one downside to the game: there is no sound that adds intensity to the game. If only David Thornburn added sound effects and background music to it, this motorcycle game would be twice as entertaining.
Having said that, TG Motocross designed by David is very challenging and addictive, and every fan of the motorcycle games genre should give this a shot. And now, we get to the part that you have been waiting for: tips and tricks that will help you play and score at TG Motocross A LOT better. Without further adieu, here they are:
TG Motocross Hints And Tips
- As you approach a ramp or a jump, lean back. When you are about to leave the tip of the ramp, just lean forward. Doing so will help you maximize your speed and cover more ground as you jump. If you are not going to clear the landing or if you are going to land to a bump or incline, hold the brake as you land. This does a good job of keeping your rider and bike at a balanced position... preventing you from flipping over.
- If you think you are about to fall into a hole, don't worry. Keep your cool and just step on the brake as hard as you can once your motorcycle touches the incline and lean forward while you accelerate at full gas.
- On the very first level, do NOT try to catch A LOT of air. On the contrary, you should keep your weight forward during the jumps. Get your back wheel down to the ground as soon as possible. This helps you get acceleration when you land. When you are about to get to the end of the first level, keep your weight to the back of your ride as this will help you get ma traction until you reach the very top of the hill. Then, lean hard forward to get across that line really fast. In doing so, you shouldn't have any trouble running 12.75 and eventually end up in the low 12's.
Well, that's about everything for now. This is the part where you stop reading and start having some fun with this motorcycle game. ?
