Dog 'n' Roll Walkthrough
Dog 'n' Roll is, without a doubt, one of the most entertaining motorcycle games online simply because it's so simple yet so challenging. In this game, your challenge is to ride your motorcycle across platforms of various lengths and angles collecting coins and power ups while you try to avoid crashing or falling. If you crash or fall your game is over and you'll have to start from the beginning. The addition of power ups makes the game a bit easier as does the fact that, unlike many other motorcycle games online, you won't have to hit any keys or click on any icons to activate these power ups. They're activated as soon as you collect them. Power ups can do a variety of things including putting you in 'God Mode' in which you can't die or 'Anti Gravity Mode' which significantly increases the height of your jumps as well as the amount of time you remain in the air. Because these power ups are automatically activated, however, any new power ups you pick up that will put you in a new mode of play will end the mode of play you're in. If you're happy with your current mode of play, try to avoid the power ups by jumping over them. It isn't always possible, but it's the only way to avoid switching modes.
The great thing about Dog 'n' Roll is that while it's a challenging game, it's also very entertaining. You have eight different characters you can choose from by clicking on the 'Select Character' option from the main menu. Play a round with each of the characters to see which one you like best before going after your high score. Although there isn't much difference in how the different characters perform in the game, it's a lot more fun when you get to play with a character you find interesting. Make sure you input your name (top right corner of the screen) when your game is complete and you're shown your score so you can see if you have placed in the top five in the world, in your country or in your region. This is one of the most interesting aspects of the game that most other motorcycle games don't offer as you can see where you stack up against the people playing in your area.
If you want a high score in Dog 'n' Roll you need to do tricks. You can make it a fair distance in this game without accumulating any points if you don't risk performing tricks every chance you get. Playing it safe will not get you a high score in this game. It is possible to take smart risks, however. Before you even attempt a jump, survey what you can see of the track ahead of you. Make sure you'll have enough room to not only land your jump but also to take off again to reach the next platform once you do. Making sure you have enough room to jump to reach the next platform is equally as important as making sure you have enough room to land. If you don't have enough room to land your flip you'll crash but if you don't have enough room to jump again, you'll just fall off the edge of the platform. The result for both mistakes will be the same - game over.
There are two types of jumps you can perform in Dog 'n' Roll - the big jump and the small jump. What jump you should use will depend on where you need to land. If the target platform is far away you'll want to use a big jump. If the platform is a small distance away, you'll only need a short jump. If the platform is a short distance away but is one of the longer platforms, you can use a big jump and perform a flip on the way down. This gives you points and should give you more than enough time to land the flip successfully. On shorter platforms, it's a much better idea to just try to land your jump and leave flips for when you have more room to land. Try to begin your flip when your bike is at the height of its jump. This allows you more time to complete the flip and also won't rob your jump of its height.
Overall, Dog 'n' Roll is a great game for anyone who enjoys motorcycle games because it puts a fun spin on the typical motorcycle game format. The controls are basically the same as you would find in any game of this sort so it shouldn't be too difficult for experienced players to get the hang of. Newcomers to this genre of game might find it a bit difficult when they first begin playing, but in time, they should have no trouble improving. This isn't an overly complicated game which is perhaps what makes it most appealing, but it is still challenging enough that experienced players won't get bored. If you're a fan of motorcycle games, you should definitely give this one a try.
