If you have played the original Coaster Racer game, the control scheme of Coaster Racer 2 should be VERY familiar to you. Just like the first motorcycle game in the series, this is played entirely with your keyboard: the up arrow key accelerates your ride. The down arrow key, on the other hand, is for braking. And the left and right arrow keys are for steering in those directions. Pressing the Z button allows you to go into freestyle mode, which is an excellent nitro farming tool. And last BUT not the least, to activate your nitro and get that sudden speed boost, just press the X button.

Coaster Racer 2 Walkthrough
If you love the ORIGINAL Coaster Racer game, you will surely go nuts with the second installment of the series! This motorcycle game has all of the goodies that the original game has PLUS a ton of improvements that will surely give you a BETTER gaming experience. One of the first things you will notice in Coaster Racer 2 is that you can now choose to have a bike instead of a car if you want to. This is a HUGE plus. For one thing, motorcycles have smaller frames than cars allowing you to quickly zip into narrow lines and the smaller frame makes it less likely to bump into something. And that's just one of the reasons!
The action and excitement takes place in one of the linear and REALLY narrow tracks. Just like in the previous bike game, some of these tracks have protective barriers that prevent you from falling off while some DON'T! However, Coaster Racer 2 is a little more forgiving in the "falling off" aspect. Here, if you fall off, you are immediately taken back to where you left off on the track. Back in the first installment, falling off the track dooms your every hope of finishing first place and that's just putting it lightly!
Your car and bike can be upgraded separately... and to make things even sweeter, getting the cash for those sweet upgrades are MUCH easier this time around. Every race that you win gives you several thousands of dollars and that's not counting the dough you pick up along the track. That means you can always beef up and upgrade 2 or three things at a time after every race. Consistently winning and collecting cash in the game will give you a VERY powerful and speedy motorcycle and car in no time. Save the stunts later, focus more on winning and bagging money... then you can do whatever you want after that.
There are a couple of tracks in this motorcycle game that must be unlocked by clearing the previous track and completing a goal - it could be reaching a certain level of performance. There are 2 challenges for every track - there's one for the bikes and another one for the cars.
Also, there are head to head challenges. Here, you should best another racer in a single lap one-on-one match up... no other racers, just you and him. Another game mode that will surely be a favorite for speed freaks is the time trial mode. In this mode, you need to clear a race in a specific time frame.
And last BUT not the least, there's the Catch Up Game Mode. In my opinion, this is the easiest of all the challenges and game modes in Coaster Racer 2. The objective is to overtake an opponent who had a good head start at the beginning of the game. Do that and you win.
Tips And Tricks In Coaster Racer 2:
When you are free styling / free-wheeling, your nitro gauge increases a LOT faster and you can stock up to 3 nitro boosts. Use it when it counts and make sure it doesn't work against you. Be careful of using nitro boosts in those curvy tracks without any protective barriers.
Getting to top speed and keeping it up is the MOST important thing in Coaster Racer 2.
Need more cash? Then do a race! It's a MUCH better investment than doing a challenge as a challenge is only worth $1000. You can make much more by winning a race.
